Our Approach
THE TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATORS, AND STAFF AT HADDON LEARNING CENTER CHILD CARE ARE UNITED IN THEIR COMMITMENT TO EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
WE BELIEVE THAT ALL CHILDREN:
- Need to be included and feel valued and loved;
- Have the power and desire to play and therefore learn through play;
- Are curious and creative;
- Can succeed!
No two children have exactly the same personality or learning style. That is why from our infant room, we utilize a multisensory approach to early childhood education. We combine direct instruction, small-group work, movement (exercise and dancing), music, and hands-on learning so that each child experiences every facet of a lesson or theme. We explore each topic and theme with our minds, body, and spirit.
Our center utilizes the acclaimed Pinnacle® Curriculum. Pinnacle® is a research-based early childhood curriculum designed with teachers and students in mind. Based on the works of Piaget, Gardner, and Erikson, Pinnacle® provides HLC teachers with the foundation to engage our students in developmentally appropriate activities.
In addition to the Pinnacle® Curriculum, Haddon Learning Center :
- Begins to communicate with our infants utilizing infant sign language from 6 weeks of age.
- Utilizes "scaffolding instruction technique" to expand on your child's emergent skills and foster a strong foundation in their learning process. This technique builds on each child's current knowledge and skills by gently expanding their level of comprehension and encouraging new skill acquisition.
- Introduces American Sign Language and basic Spanish at 30 months of age.
- In our lesson plans, we explore the social education topics of feelings highlighting a different emotion every month.
- Recognizes, even in group care, that each child is an individual and is celebrated for their unique contribution to our group.
- We "Play 60," integrating 60 minutes of heart-raising fun movement into your child's day, every day.
- We LOVE to experience and play in the great outdoors! At HLC, your child will enjoy; neighborhood walks, age-appropriate playgrounds, and group play activities in our children's garden.

We encourage every family considering Haddon Learning Center as a childcare provider to tour our school and get to know us.
Tours are individual and must be scheduled in advance to ensure that a Haddon Learning Center staff member can introduce your family to our school and answer all of your questions.
